The OFA varsity girls soccer team kicked off the season in championship fashion, winning the OFA Varsity Girls Soccer Tournament under new head coach Amy Lemke.

Lemke’s first two games at the helm ended in victories, including a 2-1 win over Hermon-Dekalb in the championship match. The Blue Devils opened the tournament with a win against Morristown on Tuesday night. Heuvelton defeated Morristown to secure third place.

Senior Ella Ramsdell was named tournament MVP.

JV Devils Finish Third in Competitive Tournament

Coach Sadie O’Neil also made her debut this week, leading the OFA junior varsity girls soccer team to a third-place finish in the JV tournament.

The JV Devils fell to Massena 3-1 on Tuesday but bounced back with a strong 4-0 win over St. Lawrence Central on Wednesday. Gouverneur defeated Massena 2-1 to claim the JV championship, with Sylvia Burt earning MVP honors.
