Principal Sitting on Stacked Pallets

Christina Frank, Principal at JFK Elementary, didn’t think much of it when she submitted an application to receive a donation of Lysol Disinfectant Wipes through the Frontline Impact Project. Weeks later, she received the good news that the Ogdensburg City School District had been selected to receive a donation, which was more significant than Mrs. Frank could have imagined.  Frank said, “emerging from the global pandemic, our ability to sanitize surfaces is directly tied to our ability to be open for in person instruction. We hope for our students to be healthy and at school every day, engaged in learning - which can sometimes get messy. Lysol wipes certainly help!”

On Monday, February 27, a semi-truck pulled up to the loading dock at JFK Elementary with forty pallets stacked with cases that contained 30,000 packages of Lysol wipes. Each package contains eighty individual wipes, which amount to 2.4 million spills cleaned, desks sanitized, materials disinfected, and more.

“During the pandemic, some people were not working, and families were struggling, so we took Lysol wipes off of our school supplies list. Once things started to return to normal, we realized we needed to add them back on. This donation means that there is one less thing we need to ask our parents to provide. It is one less thing that teachers have to worry about supplying in their own classrooms,” Frank said as she watched maintenance staff unload the pallets from the delivery truck. The donation, which amounts to $134,100 in Lysol wipes, will be shared between John F. Kennedy and Grant C. Madill Elementary schools.
