Ogdensburg Free Academy students from the Model United Nations Club and Latin American Studies class earned multiple awards Wednesday, Feb. 4, during the annual Model UN conference hosted by Parishville-Hopkinton Central School District.

District students received recognition in every committee at the conference.

Jordyn Dobbs was awarded Outstanding Delegate for her representation of China. Jamie Furgison helped secure the Best Delegation Award for OFA while serving on the Political Committee.

Several students earned honorable mention awards for their committee work and representation of assigned nations, including Natalie Lesniak, Andrew Bertram, Aidan Moran, Dempsey Sutton, Ella Ramsdell, Gaby Paradis, Leannah LaFleur and Gianna Willis.

The Model UN conference brought together students from across the region to engage in diplomatic simulations, debate international topics and collaborate on resolutions addressing global challenges.

Participation in Model United Nations helps students build skills in research, public speaking, critical thinking and collaboration while deepening their understanding of international relations.
