The Ogdensburg Free Academy Key Club earned 15 awards at the New York District Leadership Training Conference in Albany, including recognition as a Distinguished Club for having one of the top student-led service programs in the state.
“Our students once again showed they can compete with some of New York’s largest and most prestigious high schools, many of which have 400 members or more,” said Kiwanis Advisor James E. Reagen. “I am very proud of our officers, board and members whose hard work was recognized among more than 250 clubs, including those from New York City, Long Island, Westchester County and the Hudson Valley. Clubs like Bronx Science, Brooklyn Technical Science and others may have almost as many members as we have students at OFA, but our club did very well once again at our state leadership training conference.”
“Ogdensburg’s Key Club has a long history of serving our school and community,” said Faculty Advisor Ruth Anne Barkley. “I am proud that our officers and members were honored with individual awards and our club’s service program was recognized by our state organization. It represents thousands of volunteer hours from our students who have worked hard to make a difference.”
