John F. Kennedy Elementary students in grades 4-6 will present Pirates! The Musical by Roger Emerson and John Jacobson.
The show follows a stowaway, played by fifth grader Violet Robb, who dreams of becoming a pirate. The Queen of the High “C”s, played by Blaire Thornton, and her crew, Alice Wells, Avery Reed, Logan Amerson, Lev Lyashev, Laney Geary, Everett Graveline, Dax Frank, and Stella Sevenson, must decide whether the stowaway has what it takes to join their ranks.
The No-Beard Pirate Chorus features Calista Torella, Amina Jackson, Briilynn Ellard, Kayla McCarney, Blake Dezell, and Lauren Finley. The Prisoner Chorus includes Mattisen Ahrens, Delia LeMay, Isabella Brown, Wyatt Yerdon, Lily Tortorella, and Payton Armstrong.
Pirates! The Musical will be performed Wednesday, March 18, at 6 p.m. in the JFK Elementary School cafetorium. The show is directed by Mr. Dwyer, with students operating lights, sound, curtains, and backstage duties. Costumes and props were designed by Deby Wells, and the backdrop was created by the JFK Art Club.
