Construction continued this winter on the Ogdensburg City School District’s Capital Improvement Projects, highlighted by the completion of the CREATE classroom at Ogdensburg Free Academy. The new hands-on learning space for students with disabilities opened at the end of February.
Inside the Golden Dome, renovation work is progressing on the hockey and football locker rooms. New walls and framed soffits are in place, and most mechanical ductwork and piping have been installed. Electrical and plumbing teams are coordinating the remaining infrastructure work as interior finishes progress. Installation of new spray foam insulation on the underside of the Dome roof is set to begin once outdoor temperatures rise above the required 40‑degree minimum for application.
At the district’s new transportation facility, the building is now fully enclosed and construction activities are currently focused on the building interior. Under-slab vapor barrier and insulation, slab rebar, and piping for in-floor heat are in place, with the floor slab slated to be poured on Wednesday, March 11. Construction of interior walls will begin toward the end of March. Exterior site improvements and exterior building finishes will resume as weather permits.
