Student athletes from Ogdensburg Free Academy delivered standout performances this past weekend, earning sectional honors, championship qualifications and top finishes in cheerleading competitions.
Varsity and Modified Cheerleading
Cheer teams capped off a successful weekend of competition. On Saturday, Feb. 7, varsity cheerleading competed at Colonie High School, earning first place in Class C and finishing fourth overall out of 28 varsity teams.
On Sunday, Feb. 8, both varsity and modified cheerleading teams took first place at the Edwards‑Knox competition, with the modified team outscoring four of the nine varsity teams.


Indoor Track and Field Sectionals
Several athletes earned All‑NAC recognition at indoor track sectionals. Trent Havens (long jump) and Dakota Wells (triple jump) were named First Team All‑NAC. The 4×200-meter relay team of Wells, Kresten Erickson, Havens, and Levi Biller earned Second Team All‑NAC honors.
Additional accolades included Katharine Wilson, who was named Second Team All‑NAC in the 60-meter hurdles, and Kellan Sutton, who placed third in the weight throw.





OFA’s Section X Sportsmanship Award representatives are Kellan Sutton and Kendall Honeywell. Coaches selected athletes who exemplify integrity, respect and fair play during competition.
Girls Wrestling
Ainsleigh Amo will represent Section X at the NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling Championships in the 132-pound weight class. Amo competes for the Gouverneur High School girls wrestling team.
