Substitute Rates
- Retired New York State Certified Teacher Candidates: Compensated at a rate of $160.00 per day.
- Registered Nurse License Candidates: Compensated at a rate of $160.00 per day
- Certified Teacher or BA or BS Candidates: Compensated at a rate of $110.00 per day.
- Uncertified Substitute Teachers (with 2 full years of college): Compensated at a rate of $105.00 per day.
- Teaching Assistants: Compensated at a rate of $100.00 per day.
NYS Fingerprinting Requirement
The Schools Against Violence in Education (SAVE) Legislation requires that all prospective school employees submit to a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check and be cleared by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) for employment in school districts.
