Welcome to John F. Kennedy School! We are a Positivity Project School!

It is time to begin my final year as an Elementary Principal at John F. Kennedy.  The Ogdensburg City School District has provided me with amazing opportunities throughout my professional career and I have been fortunate to have inspired many children throughout my tenure.

I am extremely excited to open the doors to education one last time for the UPK-Grade 6 children on September 5, 2018!

  •  A little walk down memory lane....I am a graduate of SUNY Potsdam and Plattsburgh.  I hold a permanent teaching certificate in Education N-6 with a 7-9 Mathematics Extension and a Masters of Science in Education with a concentration in Technology.  Both degrees were earned while attending SUNY Potsdam.  Additionally, I earned my Certificate of Advanced Study School Administrator and Supervisor from SUNY Plattsburgh.

I began my career here in Ogdensburg in 1986 as a permanent substitute at John F. Kennedy.  The following year I was fortunate to be hired by the district for a math position in Grades 5 and 6 at Dr. Grant C. Madill Elementary.  I enjoyed the next 18 years of teaching young mathematicians, mad scientists, and creative writers at Madill.

At that point I was ready for a change and Kennedy School had an opening where I knew I could work some math magic with students teaching Title Math.  Two years into the math position, I interviewed for the Elementary Principal position and was the successful candidate. I have enjoyed developing relationships with the Kennedy School faculty, staff and families for the past 11 years and am hopeful for positive experiences in my final year.

I have always been committed to the Ogdensburg City School District.  Additionally, I appreciate the many families who are supportive of our education initiatives and who look for success for their children.  I have always believed ALL CHILDREN CAN LEARN.  It is with their effort and our encouragement that they find success.  I welcome parents, visitors, administrators, and Board of Education members to stop in to see what great opportunities are available for children at John F. Kennedy School.
