Mrs. Lynnette VanTassel

My name is Lynnette VanTassel and I am the Director of Special Education for the Ogdensburg City School District.  I began my career in the district in 2002 as an Elementary School Counselor. In 2014 I transitioned to the position of High School Counselor. I was appointed in July, 2018 as the Director of Special Education. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the students, families and community of Ogdensburg over the past 16 years. I look forward to further developing these relationship as I begin this new chapter of my career.

The Ogdensburg City School District is committed to a safe and supportive learning environment that strives to maximize educational opportunities for all students, faculty, staff and community members.  The Board of Education and Administration recognizes the individual differences in the intellectual, social, emotional and physical development of the students attending our schools within the district. Our Board of Education, Administration, teachers and staff work diligently together and embrace the charge we have as educators to nurture responsibility, creativity, energy, and mindfulness. Our goal is to provide students with ample opportunities which will encourage and cultivate successful contributors to a global society.  We as a district are committed to the development and implementation of a robust and appropriate education for all students while strengthening our partnerships with our families, community, various resources and support services. Working together and sharing common goals is what will continue to ensure our students are being provided the education they deserve.
