Philosophy of Gifted and
Talented Education
The Ogdensburg City School
District is committed to the ideal that education is a vehicle through
which each individual child may advance towards his or her fullest potential.
We recognize that children
with special gifts require enrichment experiences beyond the scope of
the regular program.
Accordingly, our program
is intended to provide opportunities for the development of the unique
qualities inherent in our gifted and talented children.
Differentiated programs and
services beyond those normally provided by the regular school program
for students capable of high performance are necessary to assist these
identified students to reach their full potential.
Our goal is to enable each
student to attain maximum growth, both as a person and as a responsible,
contributing member of society.
