The Driver and Traffic Safety Education Program at Ogdensburg Free Academy is a three part program which consists of classroom instruction, simulator instruction, and in car behind the wheel instruction.

OFA is one of the few school districts that offers a full time driver education program to their students on a year round basis without charge. The course is taught during both the fall and spring semesters as well as during summer school. Most students at OFA have the opportunity to Take Driver and Traffic Safety Education during the first semester after turning 16.

To be eligible for Driver and Traffic Safety Education the student must be 16 years old on or before the first day of classes for the semester. Students are required to have a learner's permit or driver's license.
